Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2 is for Kids?

Image
We are so excited for at Equitable Stewardship for Artists. The movie should be bringing in a ton a new people to the Disney series. Personally, I think that Guardians of the Galaxy is going to leave audiences speechless. A distinction was made back when the first Guardians of the Galaxy movie was released. If the Avengers are The Beatles, then the Guardians are the Rolling Stones. Meaning, the corner of the Marvel Cinematic Universe that contains the likes of Captain America and Iron Man is a tad bit squeaky clean and mainstream, while the rough-and-tumble Guardians were going to maintain an edge. It's why, when Tony Stark kicks off The Avengers: Age of Ultron by shouting "Shit," Cap has to follow up with, "Language..." Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) would have a heart attack while on a mission with the Guardians of the Galaxy... a confrontation we'll soon see in next summer's The Avengers: Infinity War. The Guardians swear. A bunch. Shit, ass and s

American Actor and British Accents Don't Wont

Image
When it comes to British actors, we at Equitable Stewardship for Artists know our way around the accents and the film industry. Talking with accents can be very foreign for the actors and noticeable for the audiences. One of the single most important things about acting is making sure your character sounds right. This means that movies are full of people creating accents so that people sound like they're from the right places. Christian Bale thinks most Americans are terrible at English accents, but he says there's a reason. According to Bale, most American actors get their English accents from watching movies with English accents, as opposed to really listening to how actual people talk. English accents actually vary greatly, but everything you hear on screen turns out the same because they come from the same sources. Bale says... "You know what the mistake is people make? Imitating other films instead of imitating other people. Because, and especially in American

British actors still dominating the Film scene

Image
Here at Equitable Stewardship for Artists, we see how the British acting scene is in charge of the important roles in film and entertainment. Actors and directors from affluent backgrounds continue to dominate the theater industry, despite efforts to increase the number of working class and ethnic minority performers, a report warns. The House of Lords Communications committee says even more needs to be done to attract a broader range of talent reflecting the reality of contemporary British society. Its report, published on Wednesday, finds that actors educated at private schools, along with those backed by families affluent enough to help them financially, are still "disproportionately represented" in the entertainment industry. Lord Best, the committee’s chairman, said: "We were told that, despite efforts by the theatres, those able to benefit from private education and financial support from parents are disproportionately represented in this industry.”

Top 5 Trans Actors Telling their Story in Films

Image
Trans gender is big issue for the film industry and the entertainment industry as a whole. Equitable Stewardship for Artists embraces the changes and help with assist to the cause. Hollywood is facing backlash around casting a transgender role. Again. The new film  3 Generations,  originally titled  About Ray,  stars Elle Fanning as a transgender boy and explores the effect his transition has on his mother (Naomi Watts) and grandmother (Susan Sarandon). Though filmed several years ago, the movie has received criticism for casting a cisgender actress, Fanning, as the lead. It’s similar to the backlash movies such as  The Assignment  (which cast Michelle Rodriguez as a transgender woman)  and  The Danish Girl  ( starring Eddie Redmayne as a transgender woman ) have received recently. Elle Fanning stars in '3 Generations' as a girl who wants to transition.  (Photo: The Weinstein Co.) “Were I to be making this film today ... I absolutely would be casting a tran

Why Did Wonder Woman Take So Long to Release?

Image
Wonder woman is such a great film, and everyone at equitable stewardship for artists can't wait for audiences everywhere to enjoy the action paced film experience. Wonder Woman has been around since 1941, introduced to the comics only three years after Superman and two years after Batman. And yet, while the character has received a decent amount of attention in TV, video games and animated movies, it's only in 2017, 76 years after All Star Comics #8's release, that the Amazon warrior is only now leading her own live action movie. So why did it take so long for a Wonder Woman movie to be made? In director Patty Jenkins' opinion, it may have to do with how closely associated the comic book genre is with male fans. She said: "The only thing I can think of is that the genre became synonymous with young men, and so I think there was a concern that they wouldn't be as interested in a female lead and it's taken years for that to sort itself out. That'

How Much Money Can Pirates of the Caribbean 5 Make on Opening Weekend?

Image
I think everyone here at ESA talent agency is excited for the new Pirates of the Caribbean movie to come out. Whether it's crazy pirates or unique storytelling, the new film should have something for al age. After the huge success of The Fate Of The Furious, and with Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2 due out this weekend, it's safe to say that the summer blockbuster season is now well and truly upon us. Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales is the costliest of all of these films; its budget allegedly came in at around $320 million, which means that the film is going to have to make an awful amount of money in order for it to recoup its costs. We now have our first indication of how much Pirates: Of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales is going to make when it opens at the end of the month, as it has been predicted that the nautical adventure will gross somewhere between $90 million and $100 million. If the above proves to be true, Disney would undoubtedly be v
